'Tabi-suru geijutsu-ka' translates as 'traveling artist' in Japanese. This was a project in which I embarked on a forty day backpacking trip, solely surviving off my art. At the end of this trip I spent just over the equivalent of $300 US dollars and gave art to the hands of strangers I had walked up to an exchange for a sense of connection and beautifully broken, yet deep conversation in the Japanese language.
These pictures below document my exchanges, connections, and art made in cities and local farms. Major cities traveled to were Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Ukiha, Naha (Okinawa), Ogimi Village (Okinawa), and others which included day stops or night stays in local parks.
